The Lower Junction Triangle is located in Toronto’s West End, between Bloor Street and Dundas Street West, along Sterling Road within the Junction Triangle. Once an industrial and manufacturing hub bordered by a rail line, the rail is now used for the GO Train and Union Pearson Express trains. Today, the neighbourhood’s mixed-use spaces create a convergence of different types of businesses and residents, including green spaces, art studios, affordable housing and daycare services.
MOCA Toronto’s new home in the historic Tower Automotive Building is in the heart of the Lower Junction Triangle. The museum inhabits the first five floors of the building, built in 1919 as an aluminium factory and originally one of Toronto’s tallest towers. The 10-story structure is known for its unique architecture with fluted columns and industrial barn doors, which have been restored and a now a defining feature of the museum space.
